Hi, I'm Rachel, founder of Castle Hancock Gardening. I created this company as a way to incorporate three key areas in horticulture that I love and want to share. These are:
looking after and developing gardens;
designing beautiful healthy gardens;
& sharing my love for gardening with others.
My experience
Before starting this company I worked as a gardener in some wonderful historic gardens, including for The Royal Estate at Sandringham House, and Peterborough Cathedral.
These places gave me a chance to work with rare and interesting flowers, be involved with designing and building fantastic new garden spaces, and understand how to work in a garden productively.
I have also worked as a freelance Garden Designer for a nationwide design company, working with clients for all sorts of different gardens and styles.

Qualifications
I am fully qualified, with RHS courses in both the theory of horticulture, and practical gardening, as well as other specialised courses, such as Fruit Tree Pruning and Formative Pruning.

Castle-Hancock Gardening Ethos
When I started out in gardening, in many ways I found a fantastic space and community, but I have found that at some points the horticultural world can be inaccessible to beginners.
I want to help people be enthusiastic about and not overwhelmed by their green spaces, whether that be through helping them to learn where to start, or looking after the space for them to enjoy.

Please have a peruse of this website to see a bit more about my work, and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to drop me a message.
